Frequently Asked Questions

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?

I try and keep my family photography very natural and relaxed with minimal posing. I feel this will bring out the true character of your family, and will also make the session more enjoyable for everyone. I will give a little guidance and prompts to help bring out the emotion and connection between family members. My editing style is also very natural, and true to life. Your photos will never go out of style, and will always look fabulous displayed in your home.

SHOULD WE BRING ANYTHING TO THE SESSION?

It’s great if you can bring along some of your child’s favorite toys, games,
balls, kites, bubbles – anything that you enjoy doing together as a family.
Snacks and water are also a good idea to boost your child’s energy levels, and avoid *hangry* episodes.

If you have any special family heirlooms or props you would like to include in your photo session, bring those along also. For young children, an extra change of clothes is a great idea in case of any accidental messes.

WILL YOU PHOTOSHOP MY IMAGES TO HIDE ANY UNWANTED
SPOTS, WRINKLES, ETC?

I spend quite a lot of time hand editing to bring out the colours and the beauty in your images. Part of this process includes removing all minor (non-permanent) blemishes (i.e. bruises, scratches, mild acne etc).
I understand that many of us have areas we are more self conscious of and would like a little nip here and a tuck there. However, I believe our imperfections are what make us beautiful & unique. I am happy to discuss your specific editing requests prior to the session. Depending on the scope of the work required, there may be an additional charge per image.

Where do the sessions take place?

Mostly, sessions are held outdoors in some stunning locations in and around Ipswich. I have a list of popular locations suitable for all types of Ipswich photography, and will send you information regarding these locations when you get in touch to book a session.
I also offer in-home sessions which are extremely convenient for young families, and those with newborns. You don’t need an insta worthy home to have an in-home session. All we need is 1-2 rooms with good window light.

What happens if it’s raining?

If you have booked an outdoor session and it looks like it will be raining, I will give you the option of rescheduling your session for a later date, or opting for an in-home session. Your session fee is transferable to another date in the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
I keep a close eye on the weather forecasts leading up to your family photography session, and will let you know ahead of time if it looks like we may need to make other arrangements.

How many photos do you take?

I actually take a quite lot of photos during the session! This allows me more options to choose the very best photos to edit and include in your gallery. I guarantee each finished gallery will have a minimum of 25 images. Most completed galleries have more than 25 images.

When do we get our photos?

After your session, I will go through all the images and select the best ones to edit. The editing process does take some time, therefore, you should allow 14 days for your gallery to be completed. I will then send you an email with a link to the gallery for you to view your images, and select your preferred photo package. Once you’ve paid for your package, you will be able to download your chosen photos, and shop in store for prints.

Where can I view more photos from your portfolio?

I have a portfolio of images on my Pic-Time gallery site which you can view anytime. Just click on this link.
